Cofounder, CEO, Sauce Labs Inc
Together with Jason Huggins, the original creator of popular open source software test platform Selenium, and Steve Hazel, creator of codepad.org and ex-Dir. engineering at BitTorrent, Dunham cofounded Sauce Labs Inc, the Enterprise Selenium Company, in 2008. The company focusses on cross browser testing and offers an easy-to-integrate cloud-hosted Selenium-as-a-Service, value-added, certified Selenium distributions and tiered Selenium support packages.
Advisor / board member for early-stage startups: chairman, Smapper, Inc., [a new networked data storage architecture]; security infrastructure life-cycle management appliance [introduced to $14M venture funding, focused strategy, market development], acting CEO for WAN appliance start-up, and board member for importer of layer-seven networking technology to Japan. Developing a warehouse into an artist studio & residence in SoMa (San Francisco).
Caw Networks – cofounder
Cofounder, board member Caw Networks Inc. (Santa Clara, CA) Lead Marketing, Sales, Finance and Business Development. Raised $25M in venture, private and partner investment including Series B in October 2001 at a 100% premium over Series A. Negotiated and managed the sale of the company to Spirent Communications at a profit to investors and employees alike during the worst tech downturn in history. Hired the Marketing team that defined, managed and introduced Caw’s first products, garnering three Best of Show awards and voluminous press coverage, selling $2.7M in first year sales. Managed the Japanese market; responsible for 40% of first year revenues. Championed and lead the New Markets Group to successfully bring Caw’s technology into the Enterprise market.
ichat, Inc – VP Business Development
VP, Business Development, ichat Inc. (chat and instant messaging pioneer, now Apple) (Austin, TX) Recruited and signed Lotus, Oracle, and Japanese distributor technology licensing deals. Drove Netscape, Microsoft, Real Networks and Yahoo! marketing relationships, facilitating a majority of the 20M ichat client downloads. Proposed and executed technology licensing program.
Director, Pacific Rim Operations: Exceeded booking and revenue targets ($13M in FY94) all years. Oversaw establishment of Japanese presence. Contributed 26% of corporate pre-tax net income with six percent of the field personnel. Restructured foundering Japanese technology relationship into Auspex’s second-largest worldwide reseller. Recruited Australian distributor.
Director, World-Wide Field Marketing: Pioneered Field Marketing concept; recruited and lead organization. Established application segment marketing focus and dedicated group. Emceed / cheer-lead company-wide quarterly meetings. Conceptualized, organized and hosted the most widely-acclaimed, sales kick-off meeting in company history.
Product Manager: Redirected and aligned engineering approaches with key open systems concepts and market expectations. Dramatically improved engineering-marketing communications and cooperation. Drove redirection of field selling efforts towards a benefit focus.
